SES - V2 Robots

Wondering how all of the servos, brackets and hardware which forms the Lynxmotion SES V2 modular construction system are used to create robots? After all, the system is intended to be modular, and very versatile; ideally suited to be able to create a wide variety of different robots and can be used to create not only robot arms, but complex assemblies like biped robots and humanoids, as well as multi-legged robots like quadrupeds and hexapods. This page contains information on how to create Lynxmotion SES V2 kits, as well as sample assemblies which include step by step instructions.

SES V2 - Arms & Accessories

LSS - 4 DoF Robotic Arm

Lynxmotion’s 6th generation articulated robotic arm is intended as a hobby / scale version of an industrial robotic arm and is designed around the fully configurable Lynxmotion Smart Servo motors and Lynxmotion Servo Erector Set (SES v2) modular construction system.

LSS - 3 DoF Robotic Arm

The LSS 3 DoF Robotic Arm is a three degree of freedom robotic arm which has one servo in the base, and two in the shoulder. 

 

LSS - Conveyor HD

The Lynxmotion SES V2 Conveyor HD Kit was designed to be an inexpensive way to move products as part of a small educational or hobby assembly system.

 

LSS - Conveyor HD Accessories

A variety of accessory kits are available to make it easy to mount useful and popular products to the aluminum extrusions which make up the frame of the conveyor.

 

LSS - Conveyor (legacy)

The Lynxmotion SES V2 Conveyor Kit was designed to be an inexpensive way to move products as part of a small educational or hobby assembly system. This version is replaced by the Conveyor HD which include heavy duty legs.

 

LSS - Base Rotate

The SES V2 Base Rotate Kit is meant to help the servo support weight on its output shaft and is used at the base of the SES V2 arms.

SES - Mini Gripper

The Lynxmotion SES Mini Parallel Gripper Kit includes a mini 9g metal gear RC servo and is intended to be low cost, lightweight and versatile.

SES V2 - mechDOG Quadruped

The SES V2 quadruped robot "mechDOG" uses three Lynxmotion standard smart servo motors to offer considerable versatility. The design is sized perfectly to be for legged robot development using either a microcontroller or single board computer.

SES V2 - Sample Leg A

The SES V2 system is excellent for creating not just robot arms, but robot legs and other appendages. This example shows how to use the servos and brackets in order to create a three degree of freedom (3DoF) robot leg which can form the basis for a quadruped (insect-like), hexapod or even octopod walking robot.

LSS Assemblies

Lynxmotion Smart Servo (LSS) - Horns

The smart servos have a 24 tooth driving horn, and include one idler horn assembly. Note that the idler horn can be used in three possible locations on the servo.

Other Assemblies

SES V2 - Pan & Tilt

The SES V2 Pan / Tilt example shows how to make a simple pan and tilt system using two Lynxmotion Smart Servos and a few brackets. The designer is free to substitute brackets for alternative designs.
